ONCE A CRUSADER. ................

This a poetic expressions by Aguiyi Henry ,re-dedicated to the dreams behinds the birth and visions of the SunAli waters, a water engineering company with an insights on how best to provide clean natural springs for all ,with the dreams of SunAli waters and its working team of water researchers, we can say we are all crusaders.......

In my journey of life As a crusader of human cause and freedom
A grateful soul of the nature
Whom was mould by the university of natural thinking, common sense and insight with street wiseness.
I learned the rudiments of humanity and the anatomy of the natural science and the grammar of politics from every day natural occurrences, observing the barriers of our time and generation

Nature itself has given me insight into the complex problems of human kind
My body is now made beautiful as the temple house of intellectual currents of nature and a gift to humanity
While the battlefields of its daily struggling gives me the opportunities for self-rehearsal for the final battle of life success
Thanks to nature and thanks to SunAli waters

Having been armed mentally and physically
Am much ready to take the SunAli waters to its place in the final romance called the journey of the meliorist

While my research knowledge will served as weapons, finally to be used to challenge the cant, quake, fake and hypocrisy
To shift the chaff from the wheat
The fake from the original
And finally to cultivate objectivism in assessing human needs, situations and problems

Am a crusader-in-arms in the crusade for humanity and a defender of the cause of nature
It is arduous struggle- and tough
Bitter and excruciating
Some time tempt to surrender especially when allies of yesterday becomes the enemies of today
Sometimes one feels like a mother less child, hoping against hope, to be transported to the Nirvana where it is hoped that there's will be no more suffering, no more sorrow and not even a bad tasting waters to drink any more

Then out of nowhere will come that fainting echoes of" the SunAli waters for all" !!!! gearing me to go on with the crusades of bring in the SunAlis waters to every home and every dinners tables

I am a crusader, making no excuses and being noble without ostentation
Even in the finest hour of success
As a crusader of life and water I have the visions and the imaginations that the SunAli Waters will one day sound across oceans and rivers of this plane
I sincerely appreciate the needs of re-dedication of myself selflessly to the romance with SunAli waters

NDLEA to Chair African Regional Counter-narcotic Meeting

NDLEA Boss to Chair African Regional Counter-narcotic Meeting

Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd.)

The Chairman/Chief Executive, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (Rtd.) has chaired the first annual Africa Targeting Working Group meeting of International Drug Enforcement Conference (IDEC).

The meeting, which holds at the Capital Menlyn Main Hotel in Pretoria, South Africa from January 23 to 24, 2018, elaborated on drug trafficking in the region.

The invitation to chair the event was at the instance of United States’ Drug Enforcement Administration (USDEA), which is the key facilitator of IDEC.

According to Andre W. Kellum who conveyed the invitation, “We here at DEA are sincerely appreciative of your support and efforts in the battle against drug crimes.”

The purpose of the Africa Targeting Working Group meeting was to discuss the Drug Trafficking Organisations operating throughout Africa with drug trafficking networks cutting across borders. The meeting was also to prepare the African region for the forthcoming IDEC meeting in Rotterdam, Netherlands in April 2018.

Abdallah described the invitation as a product of Nigeria’s leading role in ensuring that the entire Africa region is on the same page in combating the illicit drug trafficking challenge.

The Chairman further said: “This alarming trend in the emergence of new psychoactive substances both synthetic and plant based has further reinforced the need for regional and multi-lateral cooperation against Drug Trafficking Organisations”.
He stressed that the meeting coming up very early in the year was a warning sign to the drug trafficking organisations that this year 2018 would be full of troubles for their organisations and networks”.

The Agency under the leadership of Abdallah has continued to enjoy robust training and logistic support and exchange of intelligence from the international partners.

WONDERS IN RIVERS STATE . ...Augustine Otuokwa Ogar, 32 years University graduate made history by constructing a Hydroelectric Plant that generate electricity. .

UNIVERSITY GRADUATE CONSTRUCT HYDRO-ELECTRIC POWER PLANT, GENERATE ELECTRICITY

32 years old Augustine Otuokwa Ogar, a graduate of Electronic and Computer Technology, has constructed a 200 Mega Watts mini Hydroelectric power plant that generate electricity for the plant site and its surrounding Mgbaeshuo village of Wula Community, Eastern Boki, Boki LGA, Cross River State.

Remarkable and exceptional Augustine Otuokwa Ogar, constructed this Hydroelectric Plant with locally selected handpicked materials and equipments and intelligently put them together.

He converts the kinetic energy of a flowing stream water into electric energy that is now used in homes and business areas of this village.

Generated on a small scale with 'run-off' installation of a naturally flowing stream water to turn and revolve its turbine.
The Water rushes past the turbine, hitting its blades and causing it to spin and rotate, converting the water's kinetic energy into mechanical energy, the water then finally flows out of the stream and continues its journey down stream.

"When the turbine spins so does the electromagnetic field convert this mechanical energy into electric energy" he said and continue, "the flow rate of the stream water is low, because its not a dam or water fall, this is a small stream with low flowing water, Yet I was able to convert it to bring Pressure and fall like a Dam."

Augustine Otuokwa Ogar, needs encouragement, support, total empowerment from Government and spirited Nigerians.

If he can generate power from his locally constructed Hydroelectric power plant then, with Empowerment, he can construct a more Ingenious energy generating plant that can serve the entire Local Government and Senatorial Zone.

A great lessons from the boy who Harnessed the Wind

The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind

You’ve probably never heard of William Kamkwamba, but his life story is one you should know. William dropped out of school in rural Malawi when he was 14 because his family couldn’t afford to pay his fees. He then sat at home for 6 years.

One day, he found a book in the local library describing how a windmill generates electricity. Using only the pictures in the book, William figured out how to build his own windmill using scrap metal, pipes, wooden planks and an old bicycle dynamo he found in the village. People thought he had lost his mind--what on earth was he doing collecting all those scraps ?

But guess what, he managed to generate electricity from his windmill! Before you knew it, everyone in the village was coming to his house to charge their cellphones and radios, and he became the hero who transformed the lives of his fellow villagers.

Inspired by his story, we admitted WIlliam into the first ever class of African Leadership Academy 10 years ago. He could hardly speak English and was several years behind his classmates, even though he was much older. Our team at ALA helped him catch up and gain admission to an Ivy League university in the USA (Dartmouth). He’s since gone on to become a global phenomenon. He published a book (“The Boy who Harnessed the Wind”) which became an Amazon bestseller, gave a Ted Talk, and has appeared on The Daily Show, CNN and Good Morning America. He’s transformed his entire village by building a school that has over 400 students, and has brought clean drinking water and electricity to several hundred people in the village.

William  has taught me 3 key lessons  I always come back to :

1.__Use what you have until you get what you need
William is today seen as an engineering genius, but he didn’t always have what he needed to make the things he wanted to make. He didn’t have a fancy laboratory or even electricity. But he used what he had around him- scrap metal, to achieve his goal. If you want to be a photographer but can’t yet afford a camera, maybe start by taking photos with your phone. The most important thing is not the materials or equipment you have, but to practice your craft and hone your skills. The fancy labs, equipment, laptops, cameras etc will come later.

2.__Take criticism to your head and not to your heart
Some people in William’s village  looked at him collecting scraps and thought he had gone crazy. If you have big dreams, many people will criticize you and be skeptical about whether your ideas will succeed. That’s ok---remember that if you’re doing something people have not seen before, they may not understand your vision or see what you see. Listen to criticism if it’s constructive, but avoid being discouraged by pure negativity. People will come around when they start to see the results of your work.

3.__Innovation is right where you are if you pay attention
Look around you and observe your environment very carefully. What problems do you see? What can be improved? Many times, the things that improve our lives (what many people call innovations)  come from making simple observations and designing a solution that addresses the challenges you see. So don’t wait for others to solve the problems in your society. Use your creativity to think of solutions. You never know what exciting innovations lie in your head until you try.

What problems do you see around you? What simple things that you may take for granted can you can use to build a solution? What’s your version of William’s windmill and how will you build it?

Time to re-invent Nigeria. .....

My open letter to the members of our National Assembly .................

This is the time to re-invent all our national pennons, our flag and other symbols along to match with our national aspirations

THERE is these craving in every one of us to study, examine and investigate our history in our own little ways , in order to harmonize it with our already existing  knowledge inline with the present day occurrences, so that we can accurately profound for  the future . In the same way, if a man knows his history or thinks he knows some few facts, he will naturally use those facts for determining the accuracy of his opinions on some certain subject so that he can as well expand his own thoughts.

Here: I make my own assessments, after a clear study of our own national flag and other icons, and the pomposity of our history and policies. While relating them  with other countries , especially our flags with other countries , I sense  the national pride of these countries being  coasted into their national symbol ,  all  their histories ,national contracts and aspirations in one quote visibly encapsulate  into their flags with  hopeful goals and ambitions, which are all lacking in our so called  national flag.

somebody will argue me that our green white green is so immense, that it symbolizes agriculture and peace ,yes agriculture and peace are good, but my  genuine questions are..............

Are we still notable for the agriculture ? Do peace still reigning in our country?

Before I divert from the major issues, let me take you people further into a self-assessment of the national flag of three well-known great countries of the world.

like the united states of America for an example; its national flag consists of thirteen equal horizontal stripes of red (top and bottom) alternating with white, with a blue rectangle in the canton (referred to specifically as the "union") bearing fifty small, white, five-pointed stars arranged in nine offset horizontal rows of six stars (top and bottom) alternating with rows of five stars.
The 50 stars on the flag represent the 50 state of the United States of America and the 13 stripes represent the thirteen British colonies that declared independence from the Kingdom of Great Britain and became the first states in the Union.  Nicknames for the flag include the "Stars and Stripes", "Old Glory and "The Star-Spangled Banner, its Spiritual meaning is shrouded in both history and to some degree in the mystery of its creation, originally the symbol and banner of the thirteen colonies.  Its form and colors were chosen not only on the basis of rational thought but on the basis of intuition infused by spiritual thought and guidance which led to a correlation between the flag, that America came to call her own, and the intentionality of the realms of Spirit whose guiding light was ever watchful over the destiny of this very nation. The red of the stripes was not only emblematic of the blood that was shed in the war that led to the establishment of an independent republic.
It also signified the passage into the embodied state of the higher principles of light. Red is the color of the life-blood that runs through humanity and through all warm-blooded creatures, and it was, is, and always shall be America's destiny to be a funnel or vehicle for bringing light and energy from the higher realms to the earth for the purpose of benefiting the realms of life amidst the physical. In this sense, America functions as the heart of the planetary body, and her purpose serves the purposes of all.

In relation to the white stripes that accompany the red, just as the red signifies the life of the earth, the white signifies the higher realms of light joining and intermingling with the life of the earth, a constant companion to the spiritual evolution of humankind and of all beings.
The number of stars in the original pattern was shaped in the form of a hexagon, with invisible lines of light joining the thirteen stars. These lines crisscrossed from one star to another. Though they could not be seen outwardly, they represented the developing national identity that was being given energy and light by the forces that supported the birth of a nation and the principles upon which she stood. No wonder America remains a great nation, as of today America still stand as the only great nation of the world still championing for the democratic freedom of all humanity as echo in their pennon.

What about the Ghana national flag?

Mrs Theodosia Okoh, a Ghanaian, designed the Ghana Flag to replace the flag of the United Kingdom upon attainment of independence in 1957; it consists of the colors RED, GOLD and Green in horizontal stripes with a five-pointed star in the center of the gold stripe.
RED represents the blood of those who died in the country's struggle for independence, GOLD represents the mineral wealth of the country’, GREEN symbolizes the country's rich forest and, THE BLACK STAR stands for the lodestar of African freedom and marking Ghana as the African star, aiming to the high heavens, with the star every Ghanaian aim to become a star as well, not only for Ghana alone but for all Africa which was the ideology behind Kwame Nkrumah visions for a greater united Africa, to be led by Ghana.

Then the South African Flag,
the current national flag of the Republic of South Africa is made up of six colors: was designed by Mr Fred Bronwell. With Chili red, white, Spectrum green, blue black, gold yellow. Its debut came after the country's first democratic elections, which took place in April 1994. The flag has thus become a symbol of the unity of the different race groups in South Africa of which I called the team of race. The flag was designed using a combination of colors from historic South African flags.
The chili red may have been adopted from the Dutch flag, the blue and white were colors on both the Dutch and old South African flags, the black, green and yellow were colors on the ANC flag.
The Y or V form of the flag was chosen to symbolize their new-found unity, or coming together of all to a meeting point, thus South Africa's different groups.
Now many South Africans choose to associate each color on the flag with something, or some event, that is significant in their views and aspirations. As a result, many unofficial interpretations of the national flag exist in South African communities. A common interpretation is as follows:

Red: bloodshed of activists
White: white population
Blue: skies or the ocean, since SA is bordered by two oceans
Yellow: minerals
Green: agriculture and land
Black: the non-white population or Mr Mandela, the ex-head of SA.
The flag itself is a symbol of freedom and democracy, as it became the official South African flag after the first democratic election in 1994.

Then let us reverse back to our history and see where we got it all wrong, first the name “Nigeria” which was coined by the Colonial Masters, when they were establishing   “agricultural produce /consumer-nation base” for their finished products, after the raw materials had been stolen from us by British systems. The name “Nigeria” was introduced to us by the British colonial masters who handed over the “Indirect Rule” political system to the regional structure of ethnic groups inoder to continue with the exploitations, of which the waterway of the river Niger provided them with free and easy access channel to the  inner lands of Niger-areas of our country through which our agricultural and other natural resources were transferred to the colonial master nation of great Britain since from  1800 down to 1960 of our independence, and 1963 when Nigeria became a republic. Yet that link of political and economic slavery with the colonial masters, which reflect in our national flag without any true resistant to that from our own side, are yet to be disconnected. We are now, materially, physically, politically, economically and mentally lost.
We remain slaves to the colonial masters.

No one can  easily convince me here that our national flag has no slavery  attachment to the colonial mentality , we chose green as the agriculture that we provided to our colonial masters then and still doing the same till date, while the white color meaning no resistance to their orders and wishes, this very mentality is now affecting every segments of our societies , no more national solidarity or no  patriotism , no more nationalism ,not even a historical reminder nor national consciousness , our political leaders now have graduated from agricultural product to  transferring of our national wealth through corrupt means  and mismanagement of public fund to foreign banks, while there are no good roads, medical facilities, water system, and electricity in our country,  then it is evident that we are yet to understand our history, why we are now called a sovereign state and a Republic for that matter, we lacks in the things that will be  of our national reminder, the colonial masters knows we are foolish for sending our money and our wealth to them, to help them improve their economy. Money is the god of this world. When our people transfer our money to the foreign banks, we are indirectly rejecting the spirit of prosperity, and the spirit of poverty will continue to govern our country. The whole world wants to prosper, but we help poverty to dwell in this nation by transferring money meant for development to other countries, which is resulting to political instability, poor economic management and poor national economy growth , and national moral decay.

A long practice of individualism, ethnic grouping and regional political-party system in Nigeria had created political and economic systems with boundaries, and these boundaries reflect the nature of our independence from the colonial masters. We did not fight for independence; rather we were given a designed independence that is indirectly controlled by the colonial powers. Achebe says, “The center cannot hold.” describing the present political system in Nigeria, in which the country has no political foundation. Lack of political foundation turns the country into a “national cake” for individuals, ethnic groups and regions to share and take it to them. This shows that we have no country to develop because emphases are laid on the ethnic group and regional interests and development, rather than on the national interests, development and nationhood.
Why is it so difficult for us to break away from this colonial captivity so that we can prepare a better nation for our younger generation? As long as there are no unified Nigerians, there will be no unified country to develop. The center that does not hold is the channel or the hole established by the colonialists to transfer our wealth to them. That hole must be closed; there must be a melting point for all Nigerian’s, the point that unified our histories and aspirations like the new South Africa of Nelson Mandela, the point that will merge us into a great country in oneness. Nigeria lacks true ethnic diversity and integration. The country is divided into ethnic entities, these ethnic-group divisions destroy unity and nationhood and we seriously need to change everything about Nigeria, especially from the national flag down to our national policies.

Strategies for the change and a new Nigeria :

I want to make a few suggestions that will help us to create a progressive nation.

One:  we need to change all our national icons, the flag especially to something that will represent our general aspirations and hopes for a greater tomorrow.

Two:  Political Parties, the new nation needs to  sits together and create two political parties for their people. The reason for two political parties is for check and balances. The two political parties will become the political foundation for this nation. The two political parties will not belong to any individual, ethnic group or region. The two parties will be established to form the seat of the federal government, and that will create a permanent presidential platform for the country. Whoever wins the presidency will spend his term(s) of office and leave while the political parties remain as the political foundation for the country. The older the political parties remain as the foundation of the national government, the more mature and progressive the nation, the present president will go and another person will come in to continue and improve upon the already established political goals and objectives. The present political system of many parties is not a system of progress and development, because every new political party that wins and comes in with a new plan for the country, will keep Nigeria at the “one-year-old” status. We see people to go in there as intelligent people who can carry out this vision. Please, let our people to rise to the occasion.
The establishment of the two political parties as the seat of the federal government will set up national identity and national consciousness. It will open a way for the nationally united culture to replace the present ethnic cultures that slow down national development.

Three:  Presidential Zoning, Presidential zoning to include all sections in the nation will not be a problem because whoever becomes the president will work for the development of the country instead of concentrating on the ethnic political parties and sectional development. Two principal spirits govern any society. They are the spirits of “justice” and “equality”. These two words, “justice” and “equality” are not ordinary words. They are spirits that rule the kingdoms of the universe. These “spirit-words” are found in the different Holy Books used by different religions all over the world. When these spirits go around the nation and find no justice and equality practiced by the people, such nations will have problems because the spiritual law of fairness has not been applied. My people let us rise to this occasion.

Four:  National Economy, The general observations in Nigeria, is that politicians play politics of individual pocket. We want to believe that they take the money meant for national development because there is no Nigeria. This has been possible because the country is operating as different ethnic groups under different political ideologies. The sad part of this is corruption-robbing, robbing Peter to pay Paul”.
Our leaders had transferred our money meant for national development to foreign banks, and those countries use that money to improve their economy. Is a shame to all of us as a race, because we are telling the world that we are stupid by giving the money to other countries instead of using it to develop our society? Many people may not know why these practices had been going on for decades.
I want you to understand that slave mentality of servants serving the masters and paying tributes to them which is still in operation in present day Nigeria. The money the politicians put in the foreign banks and call it theirs, is paying a tribute to the colonial masters. What is the sense of having independence yet the money for national development is given to other nations in the name of hiding money in the foreign banks that is taxed to a finish in a few years. It looks like our psychic make-up was messed up after creation, which allows us to turn against ourselves, fight and destroy our country.
My  great people I think this is the time wake-up from the illusions of independence imposed on us by the colonial masters, and set up our own political system that will reflect our history and aspirations  to take care of our own people. Let us keep our money in our country, and use it to develop our society. It does not make sense to siphon the national wealth into foreign banks while there are no good roads, medical facilities, water systems, educational systems, and electricity. We need to restore the dignity of our race, claim the lost wealth of the nation, and provide for the next generation so that posterity will not blame us.
I challenge the political leaders to explore, invade, dominate, possess, and to bring wealth from the outside back to the nation.

We need a President and governors who will say no, enough is enough, and this is the time to develop this country so that we can compete with the rest of the world. Something is wrong with our mental framework. It is always embarrassing to read in the paper that Africa needs help. Africa does not need help from the outside. Ours are continent of gold, diamond, silver, oil and precious stones that are being taken away by the colonialists at a giveaway price. We have all it takes to build a great  African nation. What we need is the right mind-set and good leaders . Leaders with the right mind-set will have the desire for national development and concern for the well-being of the people. Trillions of dollars that African leaders deposit in the foreign banks can develop every part of the continent.

This piece of writing is my very simply effort, suggesting that this is the right time to re-invent Nigeria and address all the  foundational  questions that come with it, it is opportunity for a better beginning and for the  greater tomorrow has finally come, let us be wise------

Long live Nigeria
Long live the Motherland.

DSS RAID: JUDGE PLAN MASS RESIGNATION

October 16, 2016 reporting from, Lanre Adewole - Lagos

Nigerian judges are planning an unprecedented mass resignation to protest the alleged assault against the independence of the judiciary by the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, Sunday Tribune has learnt.

The mass discontent running through the system over the arrest of seven of their colleagues by the Department of State Services penultimate Friday, is now reaching a climax with an ongoing mass mobilisation nationwide to resign enmass.

In the plan being hatched, the Federal High Court could end up being the most affected if the protagonists went ahead with their plot.

Incidentally, suspended talks at the National Judicial Institute (NJI) on whether the Federal High Court should be phased out or retained, had not been concluded. Sunday Tribune was told by multiple senior sources that judicial officers who had been materially successful in legal practice before opting for the Bench as a form of service, aren’t finding it funny that even properties acquired before joining the Bench are now being tagged proceeds of alleged corruption by both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the DSS, probing alleged malfeasances in the justice system.

A particular DSS-interest was reportedly infuriated that after acquiring a Doctorate degree in Law at a prestigious university in the United Kingdom (names withheld) and making a fortune practising law abroad with multi-million naira worth of properties to show for it, he is now being smeared with corruption allegations all because he wanted to serve his country as a judge.

A total of 31 top judges of superior courts of record are being investigated by both agencies (DSS and EFCC), including two justices of the Supreme Court.

Three of the said judicial officers have recently been exited from service by the National Judicial Council (NJC).

While the DSS is handling cases of 23 judges, EFCC said it was probing eight judges and two court registrars.

Apart from the initial seven, busted in the midnight raid by the DSS, the service had disclosed that eight other judges were to be picked before a reported presidential directive halted all operations as public disavowal hit the exercise.

Another set of two judges were reportedly arrested days after the midnight raid, while the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, was said to have sent another six petitions against six judges to the DSS.

While reacting to a report of loss of confidence in EFCC, commission said eight judges are under its own belt, with one of them, also in DSS’s net.

The eight initially planned for the second round of  arrest, are all said to be justices of the Supreme Court.

A top source confirmed that the apex court was aware of the project, allegedly targetted at giving the court a new beginning with new entrants who are not necessarily from the Court of Appeal as it is the tradition.

A cabinet minister during a private media briefing refused to confirm or deny the identities of the targetted judges.

The minister also refused to confirm if Justice Walter Onnoghen, the CJN-designate, is among those to be arrested.    It was also revealed at the interface that the current administration had resolved to bust anyone with huge cash at home and such would be considered proceeds of crime if the owner could not convincingly explain how he or she came about the cash.

According to him “if your cash is clean, you will put it in the bank.”

Before embarking on the raids, they had written a series of memos to the NJC. On 26th February, 2016, the DSS sent a memo with Reference No DGSS.71/3161 to Justice Mahmud, accusing Justice Muazu Pindiga of Gombe judicial division of alleged corruption on his involvement in the Rivers State election petition tribunal as the former chairman before he was removed.

In another memo from the DSS dated 5th August, 2016 with Reference No LSD.158/2/31, the Service accused Justice Nnamdi Dimgba of the Federal High Court who had earlier ruled against the DSS in its case against Umar Mohammed, of alleged corruption, recommending to the NJC “to urgently investigate the compromise and gross misconduct by the judicial officer as his conduct falls short of the expectations of the profession and defeats the culture of probity, transparency and equity which this current administration stands to entrench”. The memo was signed by Ahamed Ahmad for Daura.

Meanwhile, Onnoghen who was last week recommended to President Muhammadu Buhari as the next CJN, is reportedly primed to go through his security screening this week at the DSS headquarters in Abuja.

He is the sole nominee to the president.

The security screening is expected to establish his suitability for the job, before his name will be forwarded to the Senate for confirmation.

He is the first CJN-hopeful from the South in 29 years.

Chosen by God: The Man Who Ate Honey, but Pulled Down Pillars

He doesn’t drink wine, he has a tendency to lie, he has a weakness for women and his hair is sort of a big deal. No, I’m not talking about Donald Trump.

I’m referring to Samson, God’s appointed judge over Israel.

The biblical book of Judges chronicles a 300-year period of the nation of Israel’s history. In this book, we are introduced to a man named Samson.

Then the woman gave birth to a son and named him Samson; and the child grew up and the Lord blessed him. ~ Judges 13:24

Samson was appointed to serve as judge over Israel at a time when the people were absent any consistent, strong or righteous political leadership. The story of Samson takes place before the reign of kings in Israel, and during a time when everyone “did what was right in his own eyes.”

Samson is an interesting character, to say the least. He’s not your traditional Moses or David or Daniel. Moses was “more humble than any man on earth,” David was a “man after [God’s] own heart,” and Daniel was delivered from extreme persecution on a number of occasions because of his unwavering faith toward God.

Samson, on the other hand, often chose the easy route. Whether it be by lying, deceiving or direct disobedience, Samson usually found a way to get what he wanted without acting righteously.

My guess is Samson – who slept with a prostitute and was a womanizer  – probably wasn’t a role model that Israel’s parents told their children to imitate.

So why did God appoint someone like Samson, when at other times he raised up Othniel, the son of Caleb; or Deborah, the prophetess; or Gideon, the general? Surely somebody with qualities more similar to these individuals would have made for a better role model and judge to lead Israel back to God.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways, declares the LORD. ~ Isaiah 55:8

To answer that question, we must go back to the very beginning of the story. In Judges 13, an angel of the Lord appears to Samson’s mother. The angel tells Samson’s mother that she will be blessed with a son and that he “shall begin to deliver Israel” from their enemies. (Note: the angel does not say that Samson will deliver Israel from their enemies, but that he will beginthe process – this is important).

The angel told Samson’s parents that their son would be a “Nazirite to God from the womb.”

The Nazirite vow was taken by individuals who dedicated themselves to the Lord. The vow prohibited a person from consuming wine or “strong drink,” cutting their hair or coming in contact with a dead body. This means that the Lord was sanctifying Samson for a special purpose.

As a blessing, God endowed Samson with incredible strength. The source of his great strength came from his hair. But while Samson’s strength allowed him to accomplish great feats, it also often led to terrible misery and tragedy in his life.

On one occasion, Samson was attacked by a lion while traveling with his parents. He used his great strength to overcome and kill the wild beast. Continuing on his journey, he came across a foreign woman who he described as “right in his eyes.” He demanded that his father “get her” for him. His parents were displeased with his request and implored him to choose a righteous woman from among his own people. Samson refused. But the Bible tells us that his parents “did not know that it was of theLord.” His parents failed to remember that God always has a plan.

God is always in control.

Get her for me, for she is right in my eyes. ~ Judges 14:3

Later, Samson returns to the dead carcass of the lion that he had killed. Starving, Samson noticed that there was a swarm of bees and honey in the body of the lion. The Bible says Samson“scraped the honey into his hands” and went on his way eating. Unfortunately, this means that Samson broke his Nazirite vow by touching a dead body. Samson had sinned against God. It is not recorded that Samson ever asked for forgiveness of this sin – in fact, the Bible tells us that he kept this a secret from his parents.

On another occasion, Samson falls in love with a woman called Delilah. This woman enticed, betrayed and sold Samson into the hands of his enemies. Instead of choosing a woman who would have pleased God and his parents, Samson chose a woman who cared nothing for his well-being. He may have suspected this, because he lied multiple times to her to cover up the source of his great strength. Finally, he became so annoyed with her that he succumbed to the pressure and told her his secret. This was one of Samson’s great failures – and it would ultimately cost him his life.

Up to now you have deceived me and told me lies; tell me how you may be bound. ~ Judges 16:13

After being betrayed and sold into the hands of his enemies, Samson would have his eyes gouged out and be forced into hard labor in a foreign land. God’s plan had failed because Samson was the wrong man for the job. He had broken his Nazirite vow, lied on numerous occasions and chosen women who were not pleasing to God. Realizing that the situation was hopeless, and that Samson was a lost cause, God forsook his chosen leader.

Wait… that is how the story ends, right?

Actually, no, it’s not.

I will never leave you and I will never abandon you. ~ Hebrews 13:5

While in captivity, Samson’s hair began to grow again. And as his hair began to grow, he began to regain strength. On a certain day, when his captors were feasting, they called out Samson to amuse them.

To them, he was nothing more than a clown; an entertainer.

They chained him between two pillars and “looked on” while Samson entertained them. Samson was humiliated by his enemies, who believed that they had defeated him. They never suspected for a moment that he would be able to avenge himself. But then again, they had not factored in God.

God heard Samson’s plea for help, and He answered him. Samson regained his miraculous strength and used it to bring righteous vengeance upon the enemies of the Lord. With one giant heave, Samson pushed on both of the pillars he was chained to, and collapsed the temple on top of all of his enemies. The number of people he killed that day were more than he had killed in his entire life. As a warrior, that says a lot. Samson died – but he died on God’s terms. He had judged Israel for 20 years.

O Lord God, please remember me and please strengthen me just this time. ~Judges 16:28

You see, God has a plan. And His plan is perfect. We have a very narrow view of the world in which we live, and we are often confused why things transpire around us the way that they do. We see something that looks dangerous, and we run. We see someone who looks flawed attempting to ascend to the highest office in the land, and we ridicule them.

We say, “He can’t be president – he’s nothing like Christ!” Or, “He can’t be my child’s role model – he has said nasty things about women! On TV, no less!”

Who said a ruler had to be like Christ? No man is devoid of sin like Jesus was. While others are living better lives, and perhaps obeying the Word of God more faithfully than others, that doesn’t give us the moral high ground, as Christians, to discount a leader’s ability to rule over us. A person’s ability to govern a country is not predicated on his religion.

Is it?

According to Scripture, the kings of ancient Babylon and Persia – Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus – believed in God. One sinned mightily on numerous occasions; the other was “appointed”by God. Both served God’s purpose of preserving His people.

Of course, as disciples of Christ, we should all be striving to appoint leaders who are morally upright and sound in spirit. Our mission in life is to bring sinners to Jesus, so it would be nice to have a righteous ruler who loudly echoed our message. But what about Samson? He turned to the Lord in the closing moments of his life, but where was his godly and spiritual example – as judge over Israel – the other years of his life?

Donald Trump is a sinner.

Donald Trump is not perfect.

Donald Trump is not a great spiritual role model.

Check, check and check. Now let’s look at his policies:

Appoint conservative Supreme Court justicesDestroy radical Islamic terrorismSecure our country’s bordersRestore law and orderNegotiate fair trade dealsLower taxes on the middle classRepeal and replace ObamacareBring back American jobs from overseasMake America energy independentGet rid of political correctnessProtect the Second AmendmentBalance our federal budgetPreserve Social SecurityRepeal the “Johnson Amendment”Bring education back to the states (abolish Common Core)Take care of American veterans

As voters, we should cast our vote for the individual who is most capable of improving and protecting our country. As Christians, we should be out on the streets spreading the good message to those lost in sin. As we accomplish our task, Lord willing, society will draw closer to God. As society improves, so will our presidential nominees.

Trump will not infringe on our rights to worship and peaceably assemble. Trump will appoint Supreme Court justices “in the mold of Justice Scalia.” As Christians, this should comfort us. And yet, while the Supreme Court does have great authority over the law of the land, Christians should not put all of their faith in man. Our faith should be in God.

How much more do I need to say? It would take too long to recount the stories of the faith of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel, and all the prophets. ~ Hebrews 11:32

In spite of his sins, Samson was given a spot in the “Heroes of Faith” chapter in Hebrews. In this chapter, Samson is listed alongside Abraham, Moses and David. Sadly, you wouldn’t know that Samson had great faith in God by just looking at the life that he lived. Samson was misguided about many things, which is evident by the many mistakes and shortcomings he committed. But no one can take away Samson’s spot in Hebrews 11. The inspired author of Hebrews lists him with the other great heroes of faith for a reason.

Yes, Trump has eaten “honey” – but who’s to say he won’t also pull down “pillars?”

MOROCCO-PRODIGAL-SON-GIVES-CONDITIONS

By Owei Lakemfa

AFRICA, beloved of God has many sons and daughters. Some of them in ancient Egypt gave the world its modern civilisation. It also gave Greece its philosophy which became the basis of Western thought and philosophy. However, a different race whom our Seers had warned us against,  swooped and enslaved almost all of Africa’s children. In pain and in tears, through our sweat and blood we struggled for freedom. That was years before the whole humanity agreed that the right of a people to self-determination is  non-negotiable. Even at the dawn of freedom, Africa’s children were like sheep without Shepard as the former slave  masters sought to continue our enslavement, this time, indirectly. Then we coalesced into two broad groups. Some met in Casablanca, Moroccco and became the Casablanca Group; the other became the Monrovia Group. Africa’s far sighted leaders met  in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and on May 25, 1963,  gave birth to one united movement of the African people called the Organisation of African Unity.  We vowed that never again will Africans be enslaved and that those still in bondage like South Africa, Angola, Mozambique, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Guinea Bissau and Western Sahara   shall be free. Indeed, despite the efforts of enslavers, they became free. All African children became free but  we did not envisage that one of our prominent sons would collaborate with the foreign slave masters to deprive  one of us  her freedom. Mother Africa has been generous by providing for us all; big and small, we have  our own inheritance. But our brother Morocco decided in addition, to seize the  inheritance and  wealth of small Western Sahara. First it connived with the Spanish slave masters to deprive Western Sahara, its independence. Then it got the latter to hand over   the riches of Western Sahara to him and Brother Mauritania; both proceeded to share it as a booty. Mauritania was to rethink  and wash its hands off its share of the loot which greedy Morocco seized and added to its share. However, Africa will not have such covetousness and decided to call Brother Morocco to order reminding him that the African peoples are one  and that our ancestors forbid stealing. But stubborn Morocco would not agree, and when the rest of Africa welcomed our Saharawi brothers and sisters to our common home, the African Union, Morocco would have none of it. It decided to leave home and go hunting with the old slave masters. A few brothers walked out with him, but when they got to the gate, turned back to join the rest of the family. Morocco, backed by the former slave owners,  went looting the fishes, phosphate and the riches of the Saharawi. It brutalised the Saharawi, detained some, destroyed their homes, forced some into refugee camps, built a wall dividing the territory, and forced the rest under its jackboots. It paid no heed to the international community, refused to allow the referendum the rest of the world  directed  should be conducted to allow the Western Sahara decide freely whether it wants to be free or be part of   big brother Morocco. In one of the most ridiculous  cases of thuggery, Morocco  seized one our Saharawi sisters, Aminatu Haider  and exiled her to the territory of the former slave master. If indeed the Saharawi is Moroccan, how would you exile your citizen to a foreign territory? After thirty two years of wandering in the desert and keeping bad company, prodigal Morocco decided to return home to the African Union. He must have realised that he is a nobody outside the homestead; that his foreign friends will never threat him as an equal, that is if in the first place, they regard him as a human being. Our brother, King Mohammed VI  of Morocco who was born three months after the Union was founded, wrote a rambling  and insulting 2,144-word letter announcing Morocco is willing to return. Nobody will stop such a return because Morocco is a long lost son and our home is a common patrimony. It is like a long lost sheep; why won’t motherly Africa rejoice that her prodigal son has decided to retrace his steps and return home? But while the Biblical prodigal son was remorseful, full of regrets and begged for forgiveness, the Moroccan prodigal is unrepentant, arrogant and exhibiting the traits of a street thug. In the letter announcing his decision to return home, he referred to his brother Saharawi Arab Democratic Republic, SADR (Western Sahara)  as a “phantom state” His  illogical argument  is that  the SADR which is a biological son of Africa, is not a member of the United Nations (UN). So what? How is being a member of the UN the criteria for statehood? For decades, Switzerland, one of the oldest republics of the world, was not a member of the UN.  In any case, do we need the certification of the UN to determine that the Saharawi is a full blooded African? Morocco  indulged in falsehood when he claimed it left the homestead because he does not want to create a division. The truth is that it left when it could not create a division. It wants  to adopt the same tactics by trying to induce other Africans with economic and monetary baits to expel or suspend Western Sahara from our common home. Morocco can swallow its pride and return to the African fold, but the Saharawi will never be expelled from the home of his father. Africa belongs to all Africans and no African is superior to the other. Any African leader who backs Morocco whether for a  mess of porridge or due to pressures from the former slave masters  to expel or suspend Western Sahara from the African House, should know he  is trying to break and destroy the union of the African peoples. Such people will be the enemies of the African people and foes of social justice. We cannot allow the rule of might over right in our continent. All those sharing in the loot of Western Sahara be they foreigners or Africans  will ultimately have to account for their greed. When leaders like  President Muhammadu Buhari and Dr. Julius Nyerere (who presided) sat in the African Union thirty two years and decided to admit the SADR into the Union, it was in the fundamental interest of Africa. To seek to take a different action today, is to betray these leaders, endanger the health of  mother Africa and mortgage the future of our continent and children.  If the prodigal son will not abide by the basic principles and the brotherly love  that bind all of Africa, it is free to continue wandering in the desert. Prodigal Morocco cannot give Africa conditions to return home.

BREAKING NEWS: NDLEA Taraba Busts Notorious Drug Mafia In Jalingo

The Taraba state command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), had in a sting operation discovered a drug syndicate known as “Italian Mafia” in Jalingo, during which a 29-year-old kingpin, Kenneth Okeosisi, from Imo state, was arrested and a variety of illicit drugs confiscated from them.

Speaking with a select number of journalists at the Command headquarters in Jalingo Thursday, the Command’s Spokesman, Effiong Archibong, narrated how they were able to crack down on the drug syndicate which specializes in producing cough syrups mixed with codeine.

“We stumbled on information that a syndicate is here in the State to provide locally made drugs called expectorants with codeine so that ill-informed youths would always get hooked on to it. They came with the name the “Italian Mafia” and they started the production. Fortunately for us, we were able to catch up with them. We stormed their residence on 54, Palace Way here in Jalingo and the Principal suspect was apprehended while others escaped. We carted away some locally produced cough expectorants with some psychotropic substances which they have injected into it. Fortunately, the Principal suspect had been convicted by Justice Pam two days ago at the Federal High Court 3 here in Jalingo”, he stated.

According to the Spokesman, the command discovered the syndicate had started production about two or three months ago but that they were able to crack down on them before their illicit trade would get to the unsuspecting public.

He noted that the syndicate wanted to exploit the high demand for the substance in Jalingo but that the criminals were oblivious of the structural change in NDLEA in the state.

“The Management is ever ready to ensure that nobody comes here and have a field day in the production of all these drugs that would destroy the society, so the officers are ready than ever before”, he boasted.

On the secret of the recent success of the command, Archibong attributed it to the synergy with the public which came as a result of public enlightenment. He stated that “we have discovered that going out of supply was not giving the actual result, so we had to match supply with public enlightenment, counseling, and rehabilitation. So with the level of public awareness, the society has become friendlier. They have started knowing that we are working for them and not the government. So they have begun coming up with useful information which has opened all doors to give the drug merchants a ‘dirty slap.’

He further disclosed that in the past one month, the Command has secured eleven convictions and that they had to go after those that have proven to be unrepentant after going to jail, saying those unrepentant ones are currently languishing in prison having been convicted.

DEVOTION KNOWS NO BOUNDARIES WHEN IT COMES TO BEES AND THEIR LEADER.

Story originally from vanguard newspaper , and extrated by the conflicts  of the mind as an examplorary story, that can be used to demonstrate the power of togetherness of strength even the most smallest creatures. ............

When Carol Howarth parked her Mitsubishi in the town of Haverfordwest, Wales, to do some shopping, little did she know the mayhem that would ensue.

While she attended to her errands, a swarm of 20,000 bees was drawn to her car. A local man, Tom Moses, saw the buzzing hubbub and concerned that the bees might be poorly handled, called in a team of beekeepers.

"It was spectacular. I was driving through when I spotted the big brown splodge,” he said. "A lot of people were really amazed by it, cars were slowing down and people were taking pictures of it."

"I was a little bit concerned, with it being in the middle of town outside a pub, that someone might do something stupid and get hurt or do something stupid and hurt the bees," he said.

With the beekeepers on the job, by the time Howarth returned the situation appeared to be resolved.

But, no. The swarm kept her in their sights and managed to track her down.

"The next day I realized that some of the bees had followed me home,” she said. So she summoned the beekeepers, who arrived ready for rescue.

“We think the queen bee had been attracted to something in the car, perhaps something sweet, and had got into a gap on the boot’s wiper blade or perhaps the hinge,” says Roger Burns of Pembrokeshire Beekeepers. “The swarm of around 20,000 had followed her and were sat around on the boot of the car.”

In the end, the adventurous queen and her subjects were reunited without harm.

Burns says that it was the strangest bee-thing he’d seen in three decades of beekeeping. “It is natural for them to follow the queen but it is a strange thing to see and quite surprising to have a car followed for two days. It was quite amusing.”

NDLEA ARRESTED A SOUTH AFRICAN BASED EVANGELIST FOR DRUG TRAFFICKING

NDLEA Operatives are now interrogating a South Africa based evangelist over 165kgs of narcotics drugs seized at Apapa Seaport, Lagos.

The 92kgs of methamphetamine and 73kgs of ephedrine were detected inside two containers of foodstuff meant for export to South Africa. The arrest and seizure is a product on intense undercover operation by the NDLEA. The estimated street value of the drugs is 1.4 billion naira.

Chairman/Chief Executive of the NDLEA, Col. Muhammad Mustapha Abdallah (retd.) said that the seizure has significant influence on the campaign against narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.

In his words, “this is a product of careful planning and meticulous tracking of narcotic drugs movement. The consignments were closely monitored by our undercover agents and intercepted at Apapa Seaport Lagos, following the detection of illicit drugs by NDLEA sniffer dogs during screening processes .

This will definitely have a positive influence on Nigeria’s drug control efforts”.

The NDLEA boss further  added that the Agency will remain meticulous in detecting drugs and prosecuting offenders.

In his own speech, he says “I am very happy with the success recorded in this operation. The Agency will remain painstaking and professional in the fight against illicit drug production, trafficking and abuse. We hope to unmask the drug syndicate behind this shipment and make more arrests soon” Abdallah promised.

The drugs were hidden inside packs of melon concealed in foodstuff and cosmetics such as Gari (cassava flakes), noodles, Knorr and Maggi food seasoning, yam powder, Malt drinks, pepper, Milk, Herbal Hair Cream and Golden Morn cereals. Other items in the container are Damatol Hair Cream, bags of Melon, Kegs of palm oil, Beans, Biscuits, Sardine and Cartons of Orijin bitters.

During examination of the containers marked MSKU 388274-1 and MSKU 424717-0; anti-narcotic officials detected 20kg of Methamphetamine and 50kg of Ephedrine inside the first container and 72Kg of Methamphetamine and 23Kg of Ephedrine in the second container. The total weight of the drugs is 165kgs.

Officers successfully traced the illicit consignment to a fifty-two year old man who claimed to be an evangelist by name John Vincent Arinze who was arrested in his hotel room in Lagos. A Mercedes Benz Jeep belonging to him was also impounded at the time of arrest. The suspect hails from Ara village, Nise in Awka South Local Government Area of Anambra State. John who had lived in South Africa for over a decade accepted ownership of the illicit shipment.

The suspect in his statement said that he made a big mistake by taking over the business of his late wife. “I am an evangelist living in Durban South Africa. My late wife was into drug trafficking before she died few years ago. I made a mistake venturing into her business. It is all my fault” he stated.

He will soon be charged to court.

The pictures below are NDLEA official testing the drug while the suspect and other officers watch closely...
